The content of games with a PEGI 3 rating is considered suitable for all age groups. The game should not contain any sounds or pictures that are likely to frighten young children. A very mild form of violence (in a comical context or a childlike setting) is acceptable. No bad language should be heard.
Video games that show violence of a slightly more graphic nature towards fantasy characters or non-realistic violence towards human-like characters would fall in this age category. Sexual innuendo or sexual posturing can be present, while any bad language in this category must be mild. Gambling as it is normally carried out in real life in casinos or gambling halls can also be present (e.g. card games that in real life would be played for money).
Game content with scenes or sounds that can possibly be frightening to younger children should fall in this category. Very mild forms of violence (implied, non-detailed, or non-realistic violence) are acceptable for a game with a PEGI 7 rating.
This rating is applied once the depiction of violence (or sexual activity) reaches a stage that looks the same as would be expected in real life. The use of bad language in games with a PEGI 16 rating can be more extreme, while games of chance, and the use of tobacco, alcohol or illegal drugs can also be present.
The adult classification is applied when the level of violence reaches a stage where it becomes a depiction of gross violence, apparently motiveless killing, or violence towards defenceless characters. The glamorisation of the use of illegal drugs and explicit sexual activity should also fall into this age category.
A U film should be suitable for audiences aged four years and over, although it is impossible to predict what might upset any particular child. U films should be set within a positive framework and should offer reassuring counterbalances to any violence, threat or horror. If a work is particularly suitable for pre-school children, this will be indicated in the BBFCinsight.
General viewing, but some scenes may be unsuitable for young children. A PG film should not unsettle a child aged around eight or older. Unaccompanied children of any age may watch, but parents are advised to consider whether the content may upset younger, or more sensitive, children.
Films classified 12A and video works classified 12 contain material that is not generally suitable for children aged under 12. No one younger than 12 may see a 12A film in a cinema unless accompanied by an adult. Adults planning to take a child under 12 to view a 12A film should consider whether the film is suitable for that child. To help them decide, we recommend that they check the BBFCinsight for that film in advance. No one younger than 12 may rent or buy a 12 rated video work.
No one younger than 15 may rent or buy a 15 rated video work.
No one younger than 18 may rent or buy an 18 rated video work. Adults should be free to choose their own entertainment.

Get ready to head back to Karkand this December with Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand, the first expansion pack to DICE's critically acclaimed Battlefield 3. Utilizing the power of Frostbite 2, the Back to Karkand expansion pack remasters four of the greatest Battlefield 2 multiplayer maps with enhanced levels of destruction: Strike at Karkand, Wake Island, Gulf of Oman and Sharqi Peninsula. Back to Karkand continues Battlefield 3's all-out warfare in what the New York Times has hailed as "the most visually realistic shooter on the market".

More than a map pack, Back to Karkand marks the return of the classic Conquest Assault mode from Battlefield 2. A slight twist on the beloved Conquest mode, Conquest Assault starts with one team commanding all flags on the map while the opposing team must assault and take the flags over in order to stop their tickets from bleeding down to zero.

Back to Karkand also features three new vehicles (the STOVL fighter jet, desert buggy, and an APC), ten Battlefield 2 weapons you can bring back to the base game, five new dog tags, five new achievements/trophies, and an added layer of persistence where players complete Assignments to earn their rewards.

Since the launch of the game, Battlefield 3's multiplayer has won over 60 industry awards and captivated fans across the globe with truly innovative team-based multiplayer augmented with powerful and free online social features found via the game's unique social network, Battlelog.

  • FOUR REIMAGINED CLASSIC BATTLEFIELD 2 MAPS: Back to Karkand features four of the most beloved Battlefield 2 maps (Strike at Karkand, Gulf of Oman, Wake Island and Sharqi Peninsula), all fully re-imagined utilizing the power of the Frostbite 2 engine.
  • ENHANCED DESTRUCTION: Frostbite 2 creates a whole new level of life-like destruction. The enhanced destruction in this expansion pack lets you turn entire maps into rubble. Chip away at cover, blow holes in walls, and bring down building façades on enemies.
  • MORE WEAPONS AND VEHICLES: Enhance the signature Battlefield "Rock, Paper, Scissor" gameplay with an arsenal of ten new weapons that you can bring back to the base game and three new vehicles including the STOVL fighter jet, desert buggy, and an APC.
  • PERSONALIZED DOG TAGS: Players can express their individuality with five new dog tags including Dolphin Diving and One Man Army. Players can pick the design that showcases their play style best and show it off on the battlefield.
  • ENHANCED PERSISTENCE: With the introduction of the all-new Assignments, Back to Karkand features an added layer of persistence on top of what is in the base game. With a vast range of unlockables and upgrades, the combined persistence in Battlefield 3 and Back to Karkand will keep players occupied even longer.
  • POWERFUL SOCIAL FEATURES IN BATTLELOG: Players will never go into battle alone thanks to the powerful new community features of Battlelog. Players can build their Platoon, communicate with other gamers, and compare their prowess with friends and foes alike. Battlelog is free on all platforms.
